I'm on a 5, but keep mine mounted pretty high (top of a t-post) to cut down the number of grass pics. One of my lease compadres likes his instagram angles and tries to set them lower (so the bucks look bigger), but it's a PITA to sift through tons of empty motion pics.
I put it out last night about 6 pm.
So far I've gotten 4 pics.
3 @ night. 1 is an Armadillo. 2 I'm not sure.
1 daylight. I'm not sure. I think it could be leaves.
Here's the Daylight pic

This time of year I have mine set on high. Another thig I've experienced is if it is windy or if you have your camera pointed at the feeder it will sometimes pick up the heat off the feeder. Take a lot of blanks.

Im actually surprised your not getting a ton of pics already with all that brush and only got 5. I would knock that down with machete at least. On a breezy day that thing is gonna take pics all day.

I'm surprised as well!!
Thought my phone would be blowing up too.
My back was hurting pretty good and I couldn't find my loppers.
I'm just testing it out right now.
Labor day is going to the deer lease.
I'd like to put it out @ deer lease this weekend but my back won't last 2 hrs driving.
We've got pigs at the lease now.

Mine are set to high. We get about 50 pics a day from each camera. We have about 5-10 pics with nothing in them except shadow or tree's moving. My cameras are 7ft. in the air aimed down.
Changed mine from 7 down to 4 and see if that makes a difference.
Also because I know nothing about taking pictures what is the best setting for image size, 16M, 12M or 8M ?
Higher number = more pixels in an image = higher quality. I run mine at the highest setting on a 32gb card. It will auto overwrite itself (check settings to make sure that is on), so you never need to worry about your card being full. Just save the pictures you want as you go (if you're like me they're all in your lease group text anyway)

We can think of a pixel like a dot.
1 Megapixel = 1 million pixels.
So 8MP = 8 Million dots per inch
12MP = 12 Million dots per inch
16MP = 16 million dots per inch.
Ok [emoji848]so that means?
In general a Sharper image.
Here's how my brain understands it.
Do you have any experience using a Thermal or Digital NV?
If you do it kinda works in reverse of the way the magnification works.
On a thermal or Digital NV base mag is crisp with smooth edges. 2x less crisp edges less smooth lines, 4X even less crisp edge's and less smooth lines.
When you use Digital zoom the image pixelates and every step up in digital zoom it pixelates more
So in this case the 16MP will be a crisp image with smooth edges.
12MP less crisp image with less smooth edges than 16MP
8MP less crisp, less smooth edges than 16MP &12MP.
Will your eye be able to detect it.
In general probably not.
Now when you zoom into the image you will be able to see more fine detail in a 16MP than a 12MP or 8 MP.
More MP = bigger file size.
Hope this helps.

Maybe someone with more knowledge can explain this better, but I was told the image that is sent to your phone or app is the same regardless of what mega pixel the camera is set on. The wireless networks won't send super high images over data. The higher images are only saved to the sd card. You will get the same image sent to you on 8 as you would 16 but when you pull the card the images on there are much better. This may not be true but makes sense. Someone with knowledge please confirm this or if this is not true please explain. Maybe its different with certain brands or even att vs Verizon?
