DD is how a poor kid survived while at Texas A&M. Tuesday night buffet, roommate and I would put largest tupperware that would fit in our backpacks. Eat one and put 2 in tupperware. Would have enough to last until the weekend.

Wow!!!! I guess the prices keep going up because of all the stuff that gets stolen!

When I was at UT the DD on campus had nickel beers and 25 cent pizza rolls on Wednesday nights……..Thursday’s were rough

We’ve spilled the same blood in the same mud!!

Most of mine was on riverside but did my share around campus too.

My senior year of high school meant Double Dave’s pizza rolls were a rare treat(lived on my own so money was tight). Right after high school I moved away for many, many years. Just last year came through Hearne where they have a Double Dave’s food truck off of highway 6. I was very hesitant to order the pizza rolls. It never fails. When you try something that you loved as a kid, most times they don’t live up to what you remember. This time though, I was not disappointed!!

So 2 weeks ago I made a detour on my way home just so I could stop again at Double Dave’s for an order of pizza rolls!!!

If that’s the case then why did you hide them in a Tupperware bowl in your backpack? Why didn’t you just tell them to load up a couple pizza boxes full of them to take home??? I bet they would have said “sure” and fixed you right up!

Tupperware was to keep them from mixing with everything that ends up in the bottom of a backpack. the way you look at it is correct, but when you put yourself through school with no loans and no burdens to your parents any way to get by is survival.
Trying to shame me for things I've done only shows me that I should pray for the hope that I can be as saintly as you some day and stop helping those that come after me.

Sundance Apartments...411 Harvey Dr. DoubleDaves was a staple for us back then. That, and a wing place on Texas Ave that’s now closed. 10 cent wings on Wednesday!!! I should have stayed in college longer instead of deciding I wanted to be an adult![emoji2369]

I am surely no saint, but I didn’t get on the internet and brag about stealing either, and I certainly would not use the fact that I was trying to put myself thru college to justify it. I probably never should have said anything. It just gets under my skin when people think this kinda thing is OK.

I don’t even remember the beer challenge. I am pretty sure I was challenged every time I left on Wednesday nights. Then we would stumble over to Ables. That was back around 88-89
