    Hard to tell from an inside-out shed especially if it is not very fresh. That said as mentioned above the **** plate will tell you -- i.e. two rows vs. one back to the tip of the tail -- at least venomous vs. non.

        Just before they shed, snakes are different, I think mostly because they can't see very well.
