    Tower stand collaspe

Has this ever happened to any of y’all? After reading a few reviews we purchased a Game Winner Quad Pod 2.0. I thinks it’s 10’ tall and rated at 400 pounds.
My son weighs in at 217 and I’m 215. We plan on not installing the rotating seat and adding a 1/2” wood floor.
Should we be concerned with the stand collapsing or are most tower stands underrated just to prevent the possibility of over weighting it? Thanks in advance.

Lawyers! Pinche lawyers. :-). Man, those stands seem pretty flimsy to me. That being stated, I think you will be fine. As long as you aren’t jumping around up there.

I set one up on my lease last year and it has been very solid. I don't think you'll have an issue going over 400 lbs. if assembled correctly. I really like the 365-degree rotating seat- it's pretty comfy!

That seat would probably get pretty tight with two cornbread collard green eating guys sitting in it. Was gonna leave the seat in garage to lighten the weight and use our blind fold out seats

I have one and it has held well over 400 lbs on more than one occasion.
Main thing with quad pod is to stake it down good.

We had a guy build a box stand on top of the platform and I hunted it one season and it did ok. I never thought about it being over the weight limit on the stand. Guess I was lucky because it had to be way over the limit when I had me and my son in it at one time with the weight of the wood.

Stake it down good and you'll be fine, we have like 8 of them and have never even thought about the weight limit

Wow! Ok. Great info gentlemen. And yes I’m glad you and your son weren’t injured by a potential collapse. A friend of my wife’s husband was nearly killed coming down a two man ladder stand. His son got down and he was coming down the ladder when it broke. He fell 12’ and landed face first. He had multiple face fractures and several body fractures. He was life flighted out and is still recuperating to this day. So yes , I always try to think about these things. I’m 65, my son is 26 and special needs. So basically it’s all on me.

If you plan on both of you getting up there, why don't you just buy a 2 man quadpod stand?

A buddy of mine has one that he and I have both hunted out of together. I’m 200lbs and he’s 235lbs, and we never had a problem. X2 on the staking down part also.

You should be fine but always check for spots rusting out. Down here by the coast our metal stands last about 3-5 years before they rust out. Our game winner metal stands rust out faster than any of our other brand metal stands.
