    Advice on compact carry gun

I have several pistols all of which are pretty big to carry in the summer time. I would like to hear the TBH wisdom on these three I am thinking about or any others you might suggest.

    1.) Ruger LCP 380 http://www.ruger.com/LCP/index.html

    2.) Springfield XD Subcompact 40 S&W http://www.springfield-armory.com/xd.php?version=64

    3.) Glock 36 Slimline 45 ACP http://www.glock.com/english/index_pistols.htm

    Thanks for any advice, Ranchdog

I have the XD SubCom in 9mm and absolutely love it!!!

The GF picked it up a few days ago and it just fit her so perfectly . I love the dependability, size, and compacity it can carry, It might be a bit on the heavy side but I'm the kind of guy that can use something, no matter how uncomfortable, and get used to it very quickly. I left it in my pocket, yes my pocket, and forgot it was there until i layed down on it.

I've got the Ruger LCP and like it. It's handy to put in any pair of pants or shorts. You don't have to alter how you wear your clothes or what you wear. Pt it n your pocket and hit the road. For a versatile conceal carry it works great.

You'll get every answer in the world. Carry something that is easily concealble, something you're good at shooting, and something that always goes bang.

As soon as I get my license in the mail I'll carry one of these.

        keltec p3at
        taurus pt140
        bersa thunder 380

        All hollow points.

I carry the Keltec p3at. It is similar to the Ruger and easily fits into a front pocket with little or no print.

Well the Ruger looks like an over priced Kel Tec to me. I do not PERSONALLY car for Glocks..even Austrain Cops do not carry them hot( 1 in the pipe) due to accidents under stress. The xd does at least have a grip safety, so you really have to have a grip..a proper grip to discharge the weapon..personally I say Paraordnace Warthog

Definitely look at the Kahr PM45. I must own one of those. Very small but still with 45ACP power.

If you don't want that small I say go with the G36. I can also pocket carry a Glock 26 as well.

I have and carry a Glock 36... if you can handle the recoil (even my wife and 80 year old father in law can) then it is very easy to conceal and light enough to carry all day..

First you need to determine how much fire power you want to carry...then you can start to evaluate your carry options. If I could I'd carry my Wilson CQB Compact all the time, but there are occasions when the Keltec P3AT is the solution. And remember, any gun carried is better than no gun at all.

I have a Glock 36, and was wondering which holster are you using to carry it with?

huntinfool - I bought a Comp-Tac c-tac holster for my Sig P245 and cannot be happier with it. I definitely recommend this inside the waistband holster.
