    Frozen water pipe

I have no water coming out of any of my faucets. I’m trying to identify the frozen pipe but can’t find it. I have all the faucets open and ran a hair dryer on the main line but it didn’t seem frozen. Neighbors have water so I know it’s my house. Any tips?

Have you checked the meter box main line? That is probably where its frozen.

I looked at the meter box on the supply line. It doesn’t look frozen but I guess it could be inside the pipe. I did turn off the main water supply in the house in case I have a busted pipe in a wall

What do you mean it doesn't look like it is frozen? I bet that it is frozen at the meter (and now downline as well).

Maybe right where the supply line meets the house ?

I don’t see any ice crystals around the meter. The meter is not showing any water moving, the usage gauge is not moving. There is about a 4 inch section of pipe inside my garage where the shut off valve is and I hit that with a hair dryer for about 20 minutes with no change. The shut off valve in the garage moves freely and I turned it off a little bit ago in case I have a busted pipe in a wall. All my pipes are well insulated and I have pex piping in the house

I'm not trying to be a smarty-pants (I can be real good), but water turned off?

I live in a city. My water is fine but my neighbor froze up yesterday. Kind of wired.

The valve at the meter is open. I did check that. Ha

Next question: Can you open and close the valve? .

If your water lines are in your attic, you might try getting heat into your attic. Open the attic door if it's not in your unheated garage to let heat from the house get up into the attic. Or put a space heater up there.

Worked for my daughter and son-in-law. Hope it helps.

Our city lines froze this morning. Could be up stream from you.

My water was not coming out on Saturday morning. We live in a brand new custom home we had built (4 months old) foam sprayed throughout. Our line comes in in the flower bed and has a plastic cap and housing. I dug all the mud and dirt out and got down to the pvc. I put a drop light in there and put the cap back on and put a moving blanket over the top of the cap to hold the heat in. We left our faucets open and within two hours it broke loose and we have had water ever since. I still have the light in there and I put a plastic tote over the top of the cap and moving blanket to protect it from the snow. Good Luck!!!

Turn the water off to your house, open all the faucets. Going to save you a bunch of repairs when your pipes thaw out.

The valve at the meter turns off and on. I turned the main valve off at the house and have all faucets open. I have a slow drip now from some of the faucets.
