    Xpress Boat People here.

I've been looking for a bass boat but really kinda wanted a center console but really kinda wanted a duck boat and sorta wanted to be able to take whatever to the coast.

I'm going to ask this on fishing forums as well but I feel like the brand loyal fan boys are less here so why not:

So, I'm looking at Xpress H20 Bays now.... (new more than likely)

I think people around here have one and lots have aluminum boats so I have a few questions.

Is the 115 plenty to push it? The normal load will be 2 adults and ocassionally 2-3 small kids. Should I look at a 150/175?

Appears that most are on aluminum trailers. Will it fair well with a yearly trip to the coast if it's flushed and cleaned properly?

I have 2018 h20 bay with the 115 sho. It will run low 40's with just me and one other loaded with gear. With 4 adults 35 to 37 with great conditions. I have zero complaints with mine. Is exactly what I wanted, a do all boat. I catfish, bass fish, crappie fish. Just about everything out of it.

I have the Xpress SW20, mostly fish the coast. I have the Y 115 4 stroke and love it, plenty of power and mine is super light boat. I fish 2 adults and 2 kids all the time and its tight, but honestly when my kids fish I aint fishing very much. lol. If it gets to crowded ray guards on and I start shoving them off the back to wade fish, trailer is OK but I can tell it will needed to be upgraded in about 5 to 7 years.

I can agree with this. I had a 2013 H20 Bay with a 115 Suzuki. I would recommend getting a hydraulic jack plate, as that will get you in some skinny water. I took mine in the freshwater a few times, but I spent the majority of my time in Sabine and Galveston Bay. It did just fine and rides great for an aluminum boat. The only negative I had was that it is a wet rid on a windy day in the bay. I loved the boat though!

Trailer is another thing. I know it's a light boat but I would prefer to have tandem axle....

I had a 2072 alumacraft with a 90hp on the coast. If I was going that route again I'd go 115 for sure, the 90 struggled with that big a boat.

Definitely go with a aluminum trailer, just check the bearings and races before and after every trip to the coast and grease periodically.

The 20' jons will do it all but not be great at all... it's definitely the jack of all trades master of none. The biggest con I had with my 2072 it was a barge, wind caught it all the time and pushed it around while drift fishing. That being said I used it for everything you mentioned and it got the job done.

Here's what I gonna have built for my next boat. I like chasing ducks and redfish, plus being on the coast the shallow water access in case of flooding is a nice ace up my sleeve.

I had a H20 Bay. In my opinion, it is the best all around lake boat - especially for crappie and catfish which were my target species. It did okay in the bays, but I ultimately sold it in favor of a larger bay boat. You will get wet in chop.

Yes and Yes, if I had gone with the sw22 It would of come with a tandem axle. The single axle is a little sluggish and not responsive, also if you do go with Xpress and the trailer do yourself a favor and go buy the larger bow roller or roller extension to replace right off the bat. The one that it came with was crazy small. I also have the hydraulic jack plate and run most often in less than a foot of water without a problem. Have been told the SW can run in as little as 5inches but I am not a big fan of pushing boats or throwing people off so we stay just a tad bit deeper. lol

It had the Yamaha 115 with a jack plate and was all the motor it needed.

Im 100% definite, but I believe the new h20 bays do have tandem axle.

I was browsing the Waco dealer for them and they are all single axle (all the 2021s) . Apparently i would need to custom order one... Which isn't the end of the world.

Also, anybody with a H20 know the length on the trailer with the motor down?

Our garage is 24' deep so not sure it will fit straight in.

I used to back mine into the garage and turn it so that it would fit. If I had the collapsible tongue it would have fit I think. I don't know exactly how long my garage was, but it was just a regular ole garage.
