Best UTV
Had a Mule Pro FXT. Reliable and no issues except it won’t carry near the weight as the Can Am.
Have the CanAm Defender HD ..... handles a much heavier load. Had to replace the fuel pump but warranty covered.
I like how CanAm handles their lift kits vs. Mule. Can Am adds a 3” spacer to shock which looks like the adjuster ring on the Mule.
I added a 3” Lift to provide better road clearance and eliminate rear sag under a heavy load (600# of corn in back.)
I rolled a frame member that was attached to by the lift kit. Whole rear right side went out from underneath me. Kawasaki provided a new frame member and I had to pay for the cutting out and welding in of the new member. I’m pretty sure non of the manufacturers will warranty anything related to a lift kit even if it was bought and installed by their Dealer.
Before anyone says I overloaded the unit, keep in mind the FXT is a 4 seater, never had 4 people in the unit with a load and I actually think it is rated for 800# in bed.
Also, if you want to test how much of a load the Mule will carry, put 4 adults in the unit and look at how the back end is sagging (not terrible) and that’s with no load in the bed.
Put 600# in back and try and carry it in hilly or rocky terrain and you will hit bottom without a lift. Install the lift at your own risk, I was told the unit that my dealer installed doesn’t align perfectly and creates an eccentric load which is what caused my problem. Don’t remember the lift mfgr. but they’re out of Ft. Worth.
I also had a 2016 Polaris Crew, loved the unit but kept overheating, had it to Dealer 3 times and they couldn’t solve the problem. Sold it to a guy after letting him know about the overheating problem. Turned out it was a radiator cap that wasn’t sealing, causing pump to cavitate and not circulate water through radiator. Fan never came on even though it was overheating. Saw people installing switches to turn on/off manually. That problem was a auto reset breaker that wasn’t resetting. $2 part from what I understand.Last edited by Caddo Creek; 01-07-2021, 03:04 PM.

Thanks for the replies I have a truck & ranch trucks for hauling feed and heavy stuff. This will mostly be used for riding around checking fence, looking for cattle, checking water and will be used for hunting. Probably won’t be putting a lift or anything like that on it. Just keeping it pretty basic.
Do y’all know of any dealers around my area?
I like Honda a lot. We have a few dirt bikes that are Honda and they just won’t stop running, but I need a 4 seater and the ones I have seen have no bed space.Last edited by Laner7; 01-07-2021, 03:40 PM.

We use the side by sides for hunting at a couple of places i work and have to say the best one bar none is a 1/2 ton 4 door 4x4 pickup of your choosing. 1/2 ton cause it rides smoother than a 3/4 ton, pickup cause it has air, heat, doors to keep the dust and rain out. Even a half ton will haul more than a side by side. You can drive it to the feed store, or tractor supply, or academy and get whatever you want loaded right in to the truck so you don't have to double handle everything. A used one will cost less than a new SxS, and when it breaks probably cost less to fix, any shop can work on them, and you aren't locked into a dealer for parts.
I know a pickup loses a bit of the "cool and fun" factor, but they are infinitely more usable IME
