Just purchased the Warthog v-sharp classic II and additional medium and fine stones! This thing works awesome! It is so easy to use and you won’t loose your angle again! One of my best investments in a while :-)

Feel free to pm me what kind of knife it is. If it's not a custom and under a certain value, I'd be happy to sharpen it as often as you like. You can mail it to me with paid postage and I'll take care of your blade.

I know this doesn't answer you question, but the easiest for me is to not let it get dull. It takes a little longer but stop every 5 minutes and give it a lick or two on a diamond rod.

Tormek buy it once and you’ll have everyone wanting you to sharpen their knives, I love mine, grizzly makes a cheaper version , I can’t vouch for their durability ,but other than Bob Jankowski’s knives mine run neck and neck

Our Cheifs Choice 3 stone counter top unit gets a blade stupid sharp in a couple of minutes. We always mention to our guests that the knife by their plate is very sharp.
I am a Lansky guy and our hunting knifes are medically sharp...

After just a tiny bit of practice I can get a shaving edge on just about any knife with a worksharp

                Worksharp.

                Watch the videos.

Work with your cheap/damaged blades first.

                    Yes you can...
Cheap blades, it’s fine, but they remove way too much metal. I sold mine after 2 weeks of owning it.
So many better options out there.

Warthog is good. Work sharp will chew a blade to a nub if you have a hard time with dexterity. Especially on the work sharp you are supposed to pull the knife up before it gets to the tip or you will pull back and extremely sharp butter knife tipped pocket knife. Knowing what I know Tiger, the warthog or something similar is a pretty good option for ya.

What did you eventually end up with?

Stones if you’re willing to learn.

Warthog, spyderco, & Wicked edge are easier and work very well.
None will remove the amount of metal that a Work sharp will.

My go to is my Arkansas trip hone. However in the OP's situation a better user friendly option is needed. Will check into some of these you mentioned. One can not have too many knife sharpeners
