I have never understood the infatuation with with the commercial Tues business around Van tx. I guess because of all the truck stops and I20. If your friend is straight up and honest he should do well with it.

Sounds like a great way to lose $2,000 and a friendship at the same time.

But I do wish you and your friend the best of luck. Hopefully it will be the exception and not the rule and will work out as hoped for the both of you.

I pray your friend meets immense success and that you are able to capitalize on that success. Best of luck to you both.

Good luck to you sir. You seem to be very kind to everyone, all the time. I appreciate that. From your background, I hope you are able to throw him some gigs and contacts, and y’all are able to make a go of it.

He was on site fixing some tires @ a saw mill and they were paying to truck off the sawdust and he made a deal to do the job
And started selling the saw dust to chicken and turkey farms
As bedding, made a huge fortune, on both hauling and selling “ bedding “

No help on telling the wife. Good family friend of ours owns a tire shop in Galveston. We made a killing repacking / replacing bearing and tires on Mardi Gras floats. There’s money to made in that line of work for sure. Good luck to your buddy!

That's not a nest egg, that's a rathole... Guns, strip club, out of state tags come from the rat hole fund

Don't ever put money into it that you can't afford to lose. Also, most start out with not enough capitol to keep things going. Not sure what all goes into this type of business but $2k can get eaten up real quick in any kind of business.
Good luck in your venture and yes, I would tell the wife about it if she knows about the $2k.
                              nailed it...

Hooo boy, this thread is great.

I too am curious what the agreement is? You getting a some more back in interest? The folks on Shark Tank would have taken 80% of the biz for fronting 100% of cost.

I would have let my wife know up front before I did it, she usually gives a good perspective. If this is just generosity on your part I pray it comes back to you 10 fold.
