It was ! Two boar hogs and a JRT doing figure eights and me having to try to shoot through those little squares in the panels without hitting my dog. You can’t imagine. And another thing.......a hog can soak up a lot of lead when you ain’t hitting him where it does the most good !

I use the tire too, I run the cable to a pulley on a T post, then to a nail that runs under my drop gate. My gate is 8’ wide and 5’ tall and the nail is under the middle of it in a little tube. The tire has a sucker rod holding it from backing up, they can only root it forward. Tire moves, nail pulls out, gate falls. Only problem is getting them to go in.........

I use a tire also. I just drove a stake in the ground and put the tire around it. Screwed an eye bolt into the edge of the tire to attach trigger cable.

People are really proud of their junk chain link fence! I’m looking for materials to beef up my trap

            Good stuff

I really like this idea. I have a similar gate. My questions would be:

                1. My gate is very heavy. Can you post pics of how the rod/nail holds it up?

                2. Curious how to hold my 8 foot wide drop gate up in the air. As whatever it holds will require alot of tension to hold that much weight up.

I got a roll of 8’ chain link from a buddy cleaning off his property. Reinforcement is coming.

Yes. They will pile up in corners and jump on top of each other to escape. I seen it

But if its 5 foot tall your fine

                          Pigs came in last night.

So... I reinforced today with chain link fence, concrete rebar mesh, 10 more t-posts, are re-Wired everything with heavy 12.5 ga tie wire. Set the trigger with diesel corn.

Live and learn. Pigs are challenging.
Had a Big Hog jump in and out of a small feeder pen earlier this year. WTHeck? Another one kept tearing up my poor attempt at a feeder pen, I gave up that location. So many pigs where I hunt and too far from the house to make a plan work . I’m gone just hunt pigs I think [emoji848]
