Had this happen to me on a place I hunted near Uvalde. Before I could finish corning the sendero and turn around, the deer would already be out eating the corn.

Pour a cup of corn in your mouth and spit out a kernel per every 6.3 yards.

For 1 week just dump it out, that's pretty cheap.

This is what we do. But we spit every 5.7 yards. We've found the half yard makes a difference with our mature deer.

The seed spreader should work. Set it on the highest setting and push it down the trail. That being said, it’s sure seems like a waste of time hauling the spreader to the lease for that purpose.

Shake coffee can out the window and sprinkle the corn against the door and steps, provides similar sound to a road feeder with the corn bouncing off the door and steps. I know you said you had a new truck and was trying to avoid pouring out the window, but this will keep you from holding the bag and pouring. We did this before we had tailgate feeders and worked great.

seen one on here years ago, the guy attached a flexible tube to the bottom of a bucket and had a rope attached to the tube. pull the rope to bend the tube and stop the flow of corn. want corn to flow, just give the rope some slack and the tube would hang down allowing corn to flow out.

fill the fertilizer spreader with a mix of deer corn and pea gravel and it will increase the noise and draw the deer in to the sound and smell
