You can’t. Like I said you can only work with what you know. If we only kill does pre rut it’s impossible to kill a doe bred by our best bucks. If we kill them post rut it’s very possible. All we did was remove that chance. Nothing more.

just imagine if you killed a doe in january and through the magic of science found out that she was sired by a 200" breeder AND was bred by a 200" breeder...now what? catch 22.

Just shoot doe fawns and you don’t have to worry about this issue. Plus, theyre delicious!

mine still havent been bred, late rut as always. I have a lot of axis and if they arent nursing a fawn they are pregnant no matter the time of year

In the end, I don't really think it matters.

You’re not supposed to shoot the does that are always on high alert. Those are the ones that have a better chance of keeping their fawns alive because they are always on high alert

I’m just kidding..... I shoot them first

I have a fast and steady rule... Only shoot does BEFORE changing the timer back an hour on your feeder

If you take your does early, you have fewer deer during the winter when food is scarce. Also, the bucks don’t waste time, energy, or get into fights over a doe that will just get shot.

                        Fewer does=more competition=more fighting

She’s just as dead as if you shot her in October, and that fawn will still never be born.

Best deer I’ve eaten in my life was a button buck. Made me want to hunt them exclusively.

Ah yes, but by waiting till January he was spending time with her in November when he could have been whining and dining some other pretty lady. Instead that other lady got felt up by Tommy 5pt...

                                Have a good night Dale.
