I did the same thing spent close to 9 years in oil and gas then moved to electrical. I’ve been a lineman for going on 5 years now and it’s dam good work and dam good pay with many many benefits. The transition initially for me was difficult just because the money was different but by the time I got a few years in I was making similar money and it was rock steady.
