LOL.. The first few years will definitely be a pay cut. But by year 3 I will be doing better than I was in the oil field.. The only real difficult part will be vacation days.. One good long hunt a year and hopefully lots of weekend hunts..
But more important.. The pension and 401K will set the family up for the future.
.......thats a winning move brother!!! [emoji106] Way too step up and get it done......impressive!!![emoji122][emoji122][emoji122]
Congrats. I envy you so bad. Really need to get out of this mess but afraid age has got me locked in.
how old are you?? I feel like I was the perfect age to leave. In fact my age was one of the things that got me the job.. I went into lineman school at 34 and Im 35 now.. I have heard of guys as old as 45 going through lineman school tho.. That said I was definitely out of 80 guys one of the oldest lol
Congrats ! Oilfield most of my life, and you just had to remember the “up” times, because the “down times” could really suck. You are bettering yourself !

The oilfield treated me very well.. I cant complain.. But what I topped out at in the oil field during the boom will be well within reach in a few years.. Add that with the benefits of the electrical industry and it was a no brainer.. I am very grateful that I am getting a new start that is for sure..
