My boss got a quote for his house here in Bullard and it was about $800. $600 for just the front eaves. This included lights, install, bulb replacement and removal. Then the guy keeps the lights for you and puts them up next year for cheaper since you already bought the lights. Told my wife to go get a quote for our new house and get them to do it.

I think the first year we got them it was around $800 and now it's $350 I think for them to put it up and take down. My house is one story but the roof line is as high as most 2 stories.

I have numerous neighbors that range from 3K to over 10k (with tree wraps etc). I say bah, humbug to that tomfoolery.

Yah I'm a grinch about it too. My wife always wants to put up lights but I don't care anything about it. There are folks that make a good bit of money hanging them for other people though.

Ya'll are doing it wrong. Half the rednecks here in West Texas leave theirs up all year.

No one in East Texas ever takes down Christmas lights!

A friend gave it to me when I moved in. I didn't have anywhere to store it so I just left it up until I moved out 6yrs later. Kind of a conversation piece.

Wow, there is a local handyman that charges $200 to hang and take down. I'd do it myself but there is no way in hell I'm getting up that high.
