Looking at getting a little pond hopper boat need ideas.

When I was in HS I fished a bunch. Htting the local Golf Course ponds, creeks, etc... I had a little BPS pond hopper and loved it. Could go fish so many places and light enough for me to handle by myself. This past weekend I took my little girl fishing and she had a blast. She caught to bass both around 2-3lbs. I got thinking that I wish I had my little pond hopper but got rid of it several years ago. Looking at getting another.

So far I have I like the Uncle Buck Pond Prowler 10'. Looks roomy and has several little extra's. Not sure on the trolling motor or batteries. I know I want one with min of 40lbs of thrust and somebody told me to look at Optima Troll Fury Blue top, which which combines 2 D34 for wired together. The systems looks pretty cool and a person should be able to fish allday without running low on juice.

Any inputs or suggestions would be nice.

Dont rule out a kayak- I fish with my 6 year old up front on mine- we also take them to the beach and also out in the bays fishing down in Seadrift.
Ill keep my eyes open at Sportsmans Warehouse on the little pond hopper though adn tell you when they get 40-50 off.

Glen I have thought about a kayak but I am not sure how stable they would be. What I like about the pond hoppers is the the little one can move around a little when she gets bored. Thanks for keeping your eye out for me.

If you ever want to borrow my kayak with 2 seats on it you are welcome to try it out. It is a big Fish and Dive boat and I have an extra seat where my 6 year old fishes out of all the time. Or you could use two of them and see if she likes paddling around as well. Have a little one for my 9 year old that my 6 year old handles well also.

I have a kayak and glen is right there pretty fun to fish out of, but if your worried about stability maybe look into a canoe, good way to camp and fish river water and imo easier to load and transport.

not to put down the canoe idea because i have caught lots of fish on them but canoes are pretty sensitive when it comes to stability. imo

my uncle has a small 10 ft bassmaster, i think its called, but man that little boat is awesome for small lakes, ponds, rivers, etc it has a livewell and icechest with two comfortable seats. then when the water gets a bit low two people can carry it over or just drag it over the rocks to continue fishing. its awesome

Go to pelican.com they make a two person tri-hull boat with a battery compartment and livewell it has deep floor so your legs dont cramp and it is almost impossible to flip if you live near a academy they sell them they cost about $700 a little expensive i fished in one for for 6 hours and was very comfortable in my opinion worth every penny a small electric runs all day

I used to have a flat bottom boat. Mine was a 12', but they come in 10' also. Mine was fiberglass, but aluminum boats are a little lighter. I fished with my daughter when she was just a toddler many times. It was very stable, compared to a canoe. There was plenty of room to move around. The bench-type seats are down inside the boat rather than standing up above the boat. For young kids, it was great. I loved it for flyfishing too.

The plastic bass buggy boats are great too - just not as much "walk around" room for a kid. But they are great to fish out of. I have never liked fishing out of a kayak, personally. They are awesome to paddle around and get into places that are hard to get to and such. But I like to be able to stand up every now and then, and I like to sit up in a chair or on a bench much better than sitting down in a kayak while trying to flyfish. Tons of people LOVE 'em, so it's just me I'm sure.

I fish mostly ponds too, so factor that in. Kayaks are great for rivers.
