Sorry for your loss. We had to do the same to our English (she was to me as you described her to you - and a lot of times a heavy *** lapdog too) almost 3 years ago. One of our Boxers passed 2 months later. The Boxers sister we had to do the same 1 month later. Those 3 months SUCKED!

It definitely is heart wrenching.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose a dog best friend - like you said they are with you everywhere from the time you get them until the time they leave this world. Makes them closer than most family members. I am proud of you fro holding her tight as she went to sleep. I have discovered not many people have that strength of heart. I say it's the least you can do for them.
Prayers for healing over time. It will come. Cry as much as you need to.
