        Sorry to read this. We went through this too very recently. Our companions leave a huge gap in our lives and heart when they have to go. They however also leave a part of them in us. The pain and grief eventually ease some. The memories are always with us though.

                  Sad news and I have had to do this too many times in my life. After a few weeks or months give another dog a chance to grow old with you. Great home and enjoy them.

                                Been there done that.

                                My last lab got cancer and I put her down Aug 9. The hardest part about all of it was her mind still wanted to go and you could tell each morning when she woke up. Her body just couldn't do it.

                                In all my years of having dogs growing up they just died, the last two had to be put down due to hip issues or cancer. It just sucks
