Youtube has reached a Facebook low

A little over 6 years ago, I posted a video of Konnor's drop test ... after he completed an infant water survival class. Basically, you bring the infant to the pool, in plain clothes, an instructor takes him from you, and drops him directly into the pool.

The course instructor is in the pool, in case something goes haywire, but they've never had that happen. The infant will surface, and then float on their back. The instructor will flip them over a few times, to make sure they will right themselves. This is basically the "graduation" from the month long class.

Anyway, I got a notice from Youtube, that they removed the video because someone reported it, and it violated their community standards!

I don't think thats all that bad really. No offense but I don't want to watch a little kid get thrown into water hoping he/she survives. I know those classes well and know they do a lot of good for the safety of the child but when it comes to youtube and watching videos I can see their side on this one...

With that being said, there are much worse videos on youtube and they should have allowed it. It is very odd where they draw the line..

The stupidity of the YT police amazes me.
I’m sure that was a great vid and probably would help those on the fence about such a class realize how important it is.

Amazing. Just because someone is “offended” it doesn’t mean they are right.

There will ALWAYS be someone, somewhere that will in their opinion thinks something is inappropriate. I just represented someone at work that was punished based on perception or the possibility of perception that does not exist based on facts. Trust me, I get what y'all were doing and why. If someone doesn't want to watch your video, move along. But
Unfortunately, that is not the world we live in......

Rumble is the up and coming Youtube replacement. Just as Parler is to Twitter.

Both Youtube and Twitter got to cocky and flew to close to the sun.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but the way I see it there may be some young parent that sees this and realizes that they don't have to wait till little Johnny turns 5 before they give him swimming lessons. That may save a life. No one forces you to watch things you don't like. That's the power you have to just move on. But, if it saves a baby or toddler I'm all for it.

My daughters used to teach this when they were in high school. I can see how the uninformed could mistake as an issue.

I've worked more kids that have drowned in pools than I care to remember, I had my son in swim lessons as soon as I was able to.. kudos on you for taking initiative in your childs safety and health.. The same people reporting are the same ones that are going to blame someone else when they're faced with that tragedy.. just sad

You don't have to click on the video if you don't want to.

                      That is the problem.

We put our son in ISR when he was 2. Drowning is the leading cause of death 1-4 year old. This is a major issue and more people need to have their child learn water rescue. More education = less drowning.

First I’ve heard of these. Care to elaborate a bit?

So we shouldn’t show ANYTHING on any platform that requires the viewer to have minimum levels of critical thinking skills?

That is a ridiculously dumb argument.
