    Spine questions

yes iv searched and have a pretty good idea. I went from a bowtech patriot to a bowtech rpm360. That said, im having trouble tuning the 360. Thru paper I keep getting random tears and my broadheads won't group from nothing. I'm currently shooting 350 spine arrows that I got on clearance at Walmart a few years ago
I'm thinking I may need to get some 300 spine? Haven't tested actual bow poundage but its maxed out 70# limbs with 29 draw. 100 grain heads. Arrows are 31 carbon to carbon

Random tears make me think fletching contact somewhere or some other mechanical issue. If it was consistent tears then a spine issue.

sounds like a combination of possible things. Start with making sure the bow is tuned, rest center shot and squared, cams timed, no unwanted fletching contact as mentioned before, etc. If it is then I would say you need to cut the arrows a little shorter to stiffen them or buy some stiffer spined arrows. But thats just my opinion.

it has a qad bowtech fall away. How would one tell if it.was making contact?

Spray foot powder on your rest, shoot, and look for missing foot powder. Repeat shots to ensure consistent contact in same spot. Or just look for wear spots on your shaft, fletchings amd rest. Make sure all arrows are nock indexed the same way otherwise you wont be consistent in your contact. If contact is variable then evaluate your grip, your release and loose mechanical hardware on your bow.

If fletching contact...adjust nock indexing by 1/16”. A little at a time. Spray shoot observe. Spray shoot observe. Spray shoot observe. There might be better ways to do the hokey pokey.

          Good luck MrMidnite

I had a similar issue with my Halon 6 with a QAD and my rest was out of time cord/string tied to slack on cable. I had it tied to the cable and once I laced it into the cable and tied it off I had no more issues. Check your rest, your tune and specs and everything Briar Friar said and you should be good to go. Learning experience right here.

I'd start by bare shaft tuning and nock tuning.

I guess I'm going to try shooting different broadheads. I bare shaft tuned, lipsticked my vanes and shot groups with field tips. All seems well until I add the broadheads then it goes sporadic. I tried posting pics of the bare shafts but it kept freezing. Gonna do some more shooting this evening.

                      Spine questions

The bare shaft and fletched arrow group you posted could be much better. Don’t call it good until they are in the same hole and have parallel entry. I don’t like the 350 spine with your current setup either, that could improve as well with a 300. Fine tuning should be done with cam timing and yoke tuning for your bow.

31" arrow out of a speed bow at 360 spine I would say you are underspined for sure. Had the same problem with my bowtech invasion. It liked the Easton bloodline 330's ok. Really likes the Easton axis 300's.

And maybe get a few at a time, and see what your bow likes. I ordered a couple of 250 spines for SnGs. I tried inexpensive arrows once from a big box store, no go. Don't have to buy the most expensive, but the cheap ones flew terrible. YRMV

Wasting your money on different heads until you get the tuning issue resolved. You have great suggestions on this thread already
