I would be happy to know that my guns were not out being used to commit crimes. But I would not spend any time trying to fix up or ever use either of those guns again.

I would be curious why they wound up in Mission Bay. That's Bayside area. About the only people in that area or used to be, were farmers and fishermen. But times have changed, it would be interesting to know how it wound up there. If they were stolen before Hurricane Harvey, they may have been tossed in Copano Bay and gotten blow back up in Mission Bay. But then they could have been tossed in the Mission River and gotten washed down the river into the bay. That's probably something will never be known by anyone other than whoever tossed them in the water.

The fact they have been in saltwater for quite a while, they are done. That salt water will get into the pours of the metal and rust it from the inside out, you will never get rid of the rust.

The guns are likely beyond use as the barrel will be pitted inside. If you just want to clean them up..drop them in a can of diesel for a couple of days.

My son was fishing in our neighborhood pond last year and snagged a hand gun. I was in pretty bad shape but could make out that it was a Ruger. We gave it to the police cause it seems like someone wanted it to be lost and we were worried it was used for something bad.

If I can get it apart I’m going to replace all the internals .

Before you work on it, I would send a photo and write up to Glock. Just sayin’....

Heard back from Glock . They won’t warranty it or replace it . I didnt expected them to . All they told me was to soak in oil and tap on the slide to free it up . Also said I could send it to them but they can’t guarantee anything. I don’t have a problem with either . I got it soaking in vinegar now . Will do that for a few days then go from there .

Loss may have been less than deductible or he may not have coverage.

I insure all my guns through a gun insurance agency because they aren’t nosy like most homeowner’s policies are.

Boil for 45 minutes in water then soak in Kerosene

This guy explains the process better
