Weve been in the hog hunting business for a number or years now, and I do not know of an instance where someone has gotten sick from a hog covered in lice or ticks. Ive seen some bad ones, but the beauty of it is they are generally big enough you can pick them off of you. Ill find 6-8 crawling on me a weekend and occasionally one will attach.

How long does it take to do a hog with them spoons?

A lot of hogs I have shot have 100's of them boogers on them.

Depends on how thurough you wanna be Jyoung. A pit size pig, in about 10 minutes with one person on each side. Maybe less. Never really timed it. Use insect repelant and you should be good.

Tick check is always in order around here. I spray my boots, pants and sleeves with permethrine before starting.

A blow torch from Tractor Supply will burn the hair off and get rid of the crawling little vermon.
