My Dad always said a dog’s name should be a single syllable ( later I figured out that “dammit” was part of the name).

My chocolate lab was named “Chip” by my granddaughter.

Ha! Was JUST fidna say that! Friend of mines dog blowin up pheasant last year and we named him and his friggin dog dammit!

I had a great choco a good while back...name was Sadie. She was awesome.
Daughter and soon to be SIL have a very awesome one now..his name is Griz. Better behaved than most kids!

I too am a fan of Easy names for bird dogs so you can spit it out quickly. You don’t to be saying “Alexandra” every time you send her on a retrieve or want to get her attention.
