Thanks Jerp! I had heard all the horror stories from my dad and others about the gallon jugs and I was not looking forward to it when I turned 50. "The prep is the worst part about the whole procedure." was very common. I put it off until I had to but looking back, it was a cakewalk compared to what I had heard. I mean yes ,it is an inconvenience, but that's about it. No pains, no cramps, no nothing.....just go when you feel it and don't trust a fart because there are none until the recovery room...

Smart that is great news. Keep up the hard work on the diet. I’m 65 days in my lifestyle change. It has become super easy and I do not eat near the amount what I used to eat. Keep going bud.

Glad you got good news, preventative maintenance is key!

Just like your machines, you've got to change your oil, filters, etc. or it stops working like it should

Nice work! Changes like that aren’t easy but you probably added years to your life. And quality ones at that.

Great to hear man! Keep it up! I know in just a few short months it has made a world of difference in my energy and drive to get all my projects done... especially around the house . Never would have been able to do some of these things back then. Wife has told me I need to slow down some and rest. I said I’ll rest during hunting season [emoji23]

                      Wow, 39 pounds?!!

Tell me something about this “Residue” diet of which you speak. I haven’t eaten bread, pasta, and white rice in years. Do these food sources clean out GI residue left behind by other foods? More importantly, what are the negative effects of residue in the GI tract and what are the symptoms?

Awesome news. Glad your going to be alright. Congrats on the weight loss. What diet are you doing. I have lost 50 on the carnivore diet and off insulin now. Stick with it and your right everyone should get the colonoscopy it’s really not that bad of a procedure.

It’s not really a diet plan to lose weight or promote a healthy colon as much as it is a group of low fiber foods that don’t require your colon to overwork. I had a bout with diverticulitis and the result was a perforated colon. I spent 5.5 days in the hospital recovering hoping that hole would heal itself. After it did, they sent me home on this “low residue” diet so that my body would use most of what I ate and didn’t require my colon to overwork. Low residue from what I gathered meant low production. [emoji1787][emoji23]. Really, it also just required me to eat less with portion control, while producing less waste and my subsequent result was fast weight loss and a colon that healed on its own versus getting cut on. In the two months since, I’ve been able to add some foods a little higher in fiber(fruits/cooked vegetables) and some red meat. As of today, I can switch over to healthier higher fiber foods with the same portions because my colon has been cleared for normal use.[emoji41]. It’s no magic pill. I just basically needed that little hole to heal and the side effect fortunately for me at my size, was quick weight loss and a new learned portion control.

It was that [emoji1787][emoji23]... especially after waking up at 3am to take the second dose of prep and not going back to sleep. I remember him making me count backwards from 10 and the next thing I was in recovery thinking dang that was a good sleep[emoji23]

Glad you're doing well. And no Surgery required. This is a crappy situation you had to deal with in a crappy year we are experiencing from rationed TP to riots. Glad you are "passing" through this with ease. And doing better. Brings a whole new meaning to a Smart @$$
