    Live Edge Wood DFW

Anyone know where to get some live edge slabs around dfw area? Willing to travel about an hour or so. Mainly looking for walnut but would consider pecan or oak as well. Trying to make a 7x3 foot table. Found a few places on Facebook but everyone wants a ton for raw live edge slabs. Trying to be under $100 a slab which I feel should be doable. Any help is much appreciated.

Well gunnyart recommendation was a good one. If anyone needs live edge wood in dfw I know the guy to go now. He’s got ALOT of wood and is fair on price. Picked up 2 slabs of pecan.

Anyone know where I could get these planed? 2.5 in thick and 25in wide. Will have to cut the crotch off on these unfortunately to make them more squared. Recommendations on a place with a planner this big is much appreciated.

I went to Amish auction today here in Iowa. Part of the farm that was being auctioned was a saw mill. They auctioned off some amazing live edge slabs. Black Walnut, Cherry, Spalted Maple, White Oak. There was one huge slab of Black Walnut that was about 12' long x 3' wide that went for $100.00.

Not close to Dallas but I've used this place in the past. My slabs were about 20 inches wide.

This reminds me that I need to get the pecan I milled awhile back to a kiln. Click image for larger version
