I am in Houston but paid $14.50 / foot untreated in dec . I was quoted anywhere from $14.50 - $25 foot.

I am a pool builder in the Houston area and I pay my guy $22.50/ft for 6' pine stained or $17.50/ft unstained. $25.50/ft unstained would be considered high to me but I'm not familiar with pricing in your area

I am actually in the fence business, right now treated wood (especially 4”x4”) have major shortages, wood fence right now will be anywhere from 4 to 6 dollars higher per foot. If you can hold out a couple of months you will save.

Yeah buddy! 4x4 in any length is scarce! Along with 2x4x16 SYP 2s and 3s. agree with waiting a few months and letting the market come down. It’s WILD right now, as you eluded to.

What is the TBH discount for a pool in the Houston area?

It looks like you may be out of our area if you are in Katy. We try to stay within a 30-40 mile radius of New Caney where our office is. Even doing that it's hard to keep up with the amount of leads we get. We have 5 new builds going currently and 12 ready to start right now. It seems like we have been getting about 2-3 new contracts every week. A TBH discount wouldn't be out of the question though!

If the neighbors got a dog I'd leave my gates open. He might change his mind splitting the fence or the dog would be gone. Either way it saves some dollars.

I can tell you lumber is up drastically over the last 45 to 60 days. I buy syp and between lumber costs rising and freight rising, some prices are up 40%. 4 x 4 - 8' #2 is currently at record high prices and treaters can't get enough supply.

Exactly! Lumber guy I talked to said once the Covid craziness stops prices will come back down. He said they are having trouble with demand and sick callouts at the lumber treating facilities.

Lol... should ha e done that several years ago to the old neighbor. The old neighbor didn’t want to split. .. the new neighbor told me he’s paying half this evening when I went by to tell him it was going to happen and to keep his dog in. He was thankful I did the legwork and got it rolling.
