Cowboy Wok / 22" Disk cooker / burner stand?

What are you guys using for your Cowboy Wok burner/stands? I picked up a 22" disk/ Cowboy Wok from Glen last week and I've been searching for a cooking stand with a burner. All I find at Academy are short stands 24" is the tallest stand I've found.

Anyone know of one 36" - 48"? Any recommendations?

Also - what are your methods to "season" the Wok? Any recommendations as for oil to cook with?

I welded extensions on the legs on a couple already. Good fatty hamburger will get you started on seasoning the wok.

Looks like someone beat me to it. I would second the idea of welding some extensions. I have not found a burner taller than th standard 24". If you do not have the welder to, I am sure that there is a tbh'er in your area that would be more than happy to assist.

Bruce- If you go by anywhere that sells angle iron and get 10-15 foot of it maybe 1 inch. bring it by the house and with an idea of what you want done and we can get it done. I just extended my legs and built a triangle at the bottom on mine in the back yard. It sits waist high but if you come with an idea don't plan on it being square as I seem to be good at crooked.

I have been looking to fab one up as well... the larger burners (ones that just don't heat the exact center) are kind of pricey...

If you find a link to a good bburner that is not $$$ please share.

Yep I notcied that as well - kinda sucks to have 22" cooking space and narrow to 4-6" fire...Gonna do some shopping tonight and see what I can come up with. My idea would be to have a 10" burner and removeable 48" legs.

Good post Bruce....I just received my Bruce disk and was wondering the same..

I have a stainless turkey fryer base I am going to use for now .....but am looking into getting a larger burner and a taller stand as well. There was a post here before Bownanza about some cheaper wide burners. I'll see if I can find it.

Bruce go check out the propane place on 183 or any other propane place. I got one of my burners at a place on I35 in Pflugerville and put it on an Academy base and then just extended the legs. There are places to get good burners on the internet for about $30 but once shipping and everything it is almost cheaper buying at propane store.
