I shot bismuth #5s all last year and had great success with them. I haven't shot steel 5's though.

The 3s you asked about will work fine for the situations you described. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot them.

BOSS shells love them !! Decoy ducks #5s. Buddy of mine with bad azz hunting lodge/business gets them custom made with 3/5 mix. They only shoot 20 gauges now with them. Oh, they have military/veteran discount but you have to call

Federal Red Box - Federal Premium High Velocity Steel Ultra Shok Waterfowl 12 Gauge 3" 1 1/4oz 1450FPS

They have them in 4's and they're deadly on ducks. The 3" 2's are better then alot of 3.5 shells I've shot.

Try Rogers Sporting Goods and Natches Shooters Supply. I have generally found Rio brand shot shells in #4.

I shot a case of it last year and had great results. Great product and happy to support an American company

I'll be shooting it again this year.

Thanks everyone. I’ve been shopping at Rogers. I just finished up a case of Kent #4’s last season with a Carlson’s mid range choke. It was a great combo and patterned well. I was going to go to the Rio this year anyway.

I’m looking at the 1-3/8 oz loads. They are a little slower, but have more shot than the 1-1/4.

They do have the Fiocchi shot in #4 available. Anyone ever shot that?

                      Thanks,

Cant go wrong with these. They are fairly cheap too.
