Anyone still wearing/buying Redwing boots?

I replaced a pair of 1178's that I had for 25 years after the upper finally split open a little. That was about a year and a half ago.
The new pair had a loose shank in the left boot (slight click at extreme bend), so I recently asked about the turn around time on a repair. The guy at the Red Wing store said that the repair factory had just re-opened after closing for the virus, so it could be months.
He had a new pair of 1178's in my size, so he swapped me a new pair of boots on the spot. Good service.

My main concerns are I have feet issues (plantar fasciitis) and I walk like forrest gump so the outside of my shoes wear out very fast until the shoe/boot basically is unwearable because my foot is hanging over the side of the sole.
Anyone with "special feet" had experience with the Redwings and their warranty and resoling process?
Any other feedback on the custom fitted Redwings and their comfort and longetivity?
1. Get a tennis ball, drop it on the carpet and roll it with the bottom of your foot. It's basically a deep tissue foot massage. Work the areas that hurt the worst, but be gentle the first few times. Do this 2xdaily for a few minutes, gradually increase the pressure.
2. I saw on the TLC channel on a show called "My Feet are Killiing Me". The doctor gave a plantar fasciitis patient shots in the soles of her feet. On the 6 week follow up, he was pain free.
3. Look for good arch inserts. Change them every 6 months.

Ive tried em all. Danner is the best.

I’ve had several pair of redwings for wildfire work and they were great. I eventually spent the money and got a pair of Whites. I wore them for four seasons and then handed them down to a young man that was headed off to his first season on the line in Alaska. A few more seasons in and he just had the lowers rebuilt for half the cost of a new pair. Just throwing that out there if your ready to drop some good money on boots.
