Not sure what holder your loader has that attaches your bucket to your frame. Being a 553 if it is not a skid steer style attachment, your pins could be sheared in the timing bar. Should take 2. Have you switched the hoses from the bucket tilt cylinders with the lift cylinders hoses and see if the problems changes to the lift cylinders. Check if you have tension or if the hydraulic hose is moving when you try to tilt the bucket, it could be the check valve stuck on the quick connects on your hoses. Pop them both out and see if the check valve is working smooth and reconnect. Keep us posted.

I had been working in heavy brush and must’ve had a limb catch it. My JD service guy said it may not have been fully engaged in the first place when hydraulics were installed.

Just so you guys know, on these 5000e series tractors, there's an electrical issue that can come up too if you're in heavy brush mowing or working with anything The 4 wheel drive indicator solenoid is on the main electrical circuit with the hydraulics for the tranny (for the power reverse equipped tractors) and the PTO. What happened to me was a limb grabbed the wires and pulled them out the top of the solenoid so that they dangled down freely. I was mowing my pasture and was almost done... Made a turn and the forward motion of the tractor stopped and PTO disengaged... It was dead in the water... found out about this with the DDG search engine, but what happens is the wires from that soleniod are fused. The hot wire touched the frame and blew that fuse... That shuts down the forward/reverse and PTO... reattached the wires and replaced the fuse (fuse box is in the front of the floorboard right in the center under the steering wheel...) and I was back in business...
Funny how little things can cause so much grief!!
