Whatever oak you decide on, get some "grow spikes" and drive them in the ground around the drip line of the trees after they're established. They will kick into high gear and grow like mad. I personally like live oaks since they're an evergreen, but grass does not grow well under their canopy. If you plant sycamore trees, you'll be sorry!! leaves are terrible!! Plus, their wood is very brittle even when green. As a kid growing up, my dad/grandpa always told us to never climb a sycamore tree because the limbs are so brittle they will break and dump you out on yore head! It is true that even a green and growing sycamore branch will break off the tree like a dead limb...
