As soon as you know there's chicks start going up there and feeding them snacks and making buds, roadrunner make for a cool pet as long as your not raising chickens or quail and other such small critters. Don't wait until you think they're about ready to leave the nest, by then they're durn near grown, they'll hit the ground and be gone!

Hey tex4k, I think someone tamed one like that in my neck of the woods. Had a roadrunner hang around my yard during cold winter and hot summer so it was at least a year, and really maybe a couple of years now that I start to tally it. Never got real close to me, maybe 10 yards away, but would kinda keep me company while I shot my bow. Named him “Roadie”, and watched ole meep meep eat many geckos, grasshoppers, even monarch butterflies. His favorite perch was a black wrought iron chair I had on my patio. He would hunker down in that chair, spread his wings out and soak up some rays. Kicking myself now for not getting any pics of my yard buddy. Hope another one shows up some time, miss that little guy, they are cool.

Thanks for sharing!
Road Runners are very cool. We have several around our house. When we moved in about 17 years ago my oldest son had just turned 2 and there was a road runner that would let him get very close ~5 yards or so. My son would chase the road runner and when he turned around to come back the road runner would kinda follow him.
