When do you shoot most of your critters...in low light conditions, something about these that get distorted and it's like the eye relief is out of whack, so frustrating. If I had money to burn I toss em' in the trash.
Just got a remington 783 short bull barrel .223 with a vortex crossfire II on it and shot it the other day at a target. That night was driving around the place and seen a group of hogs and it was almost dark and you talk about struggling to see anything outta the scope. Now I did mess with the focus some and it fixed a lot of it. But then during daylight it looks off. If this one ever goes bad I’ll be putting a Nikon on it like the rest of my rifles have

Interesting read, I own two scopes and a pair of binoculars. I have not been impressed with The crossfire line but the viper scope is not bad. I’m no expert when it comes to optics but I don’t think I would buy again.

I have the viper 6.5-20x44 and have zero complaints. I’ve only had it since January so maybe over time I’ll change my mind. I will tell you this tho I have a Nikon on the my other rifle and I like the vortex a lot more. I also have vortex binos and they are crystal clear and I just recently purchased the laser 4000 rangefinder. I have zero complaints about vortex. Are there better quality brands out there? you betcha but for double the price or more. No matter what product or brand it is someone somewhere is going to have some kind of complaint that’s just the way it is. And like Arrowsmith said you don’t go from small to big by selling junk

I have 6 Razor branded scopes and have never had any problems with them. That being said, the Razor series would be overkill on a Mini14.

Have 2 viper scopes and love them! Never any issues. Bout to order one from arrowsmith. I wouldn’t purchase the lower end scope probably wouldn’t purchase the top either (just don’t have that kind of change)

I have 2 vortex scopes, and have been very pleased, no issue at all. Dialed them in and they’ve been dead on every since. IMO good product

I purchased a Viper 6.5-20X50 from the green screen a few months back. Put it on a 308 and I have to say I am fairly impressed with it. I have had a couple of their scopes in the past and they were junk. Only gripe I have about it, like mentioned above they are not very good in low light situations.

                    No they aren’t.

I will never forget that thread you started years ago about one of their new scopes.

                    Found it.

I even emailed them and they told me they knew the issue and explained why it happens but they never offered me a refund or any other compensation for the 4 viper scopes I had. All they said was if you go up to our razor line ($$$$) you won’t have the Issue. I emailed them back and asked them why they continue to sell scopes they know how an issue and they tried to give me the line that all Lower prices scopes do it not just theirs. Now we are talking some of the viper scopes that retail for 800 dollars or more. Hardly what I call a cheap scope. I have had tascos that worked better and for sure all my vx1 vx2 and vx3 never have issues.
Did you buy all 4 viper scopes at the same time?

I have two. They work for what I shoot (inside 500 yards). My rifles were about $600

When I started out with Vortex as a dealer in 2005 they had 12 employees and a very small building in Madison, Wisconsin. They had just recently moved from the owners garage at his home where they started out as a Wild Birds Unlimited franchise store.

They now have 250 employees and moved into a new 32 million dollar facility on a 100 acre site in 2018 in Barneveld, Wisconsin

That just does not happen if a company is selling junk and has to replace every item that they sell.

If you don't like their stuff don't buy it, but I will tell you this......In 15 years I have had great success with their products and many happy TBH.com customers.

It’s not hard to make money on optics. The markup is insane. And this isn’t just Vortex.

Vortex may be an American company, but nothing it sells is made in the USA, right?

I know Leupold sources some things from outside the USA, but all their scopes are made here.

                              Easy choice for me.

They are sub par to okay until you get to the razor lineup.

They’ll replace it no questions asked but they do a lot of replacing...
