    Portable Table Saw

In the market for a portable table saw.
Am really considering the Skil worm drive 30" cut model.

However, I'd like to hear informed opinions so I can make a decent decision.

I'd like accuracy to be a high consideration. I don't mind taking the time to square everything up if it possible on the model I get.
Power, hence the Skil, needs to be a factor also.
Ease of use, not quite so much.

    Just for home use.

Anybody got any experience and/or opinions?

    Following.

I am really interested in the Skilsaw as well. I would like to put my hands on one first but I can't find one in stock anywhere.

If you know where one is, and you don't mind sharing, send me a PM.

I am also looking at the Bosch for power and the Dewalt for consistent reliability.

The Sawstop seems to be the most accurate out of the box but very pricey.

That said none match the Skilsaw for power and depth of cut.

Which model you got? The 70 or 99.?

The 70 on cuts to 25", which I can't really see a problem, and the 99 goes to 30.5". The wider cut(rip) width I could see being handy a small percentage of time, but...............

If it is the 70, have you found limits while ripping? I really can't see where it would be too limiting.

Do you have the wheel stand also? Worth the extra cost? Seems to me it would be, especially if you have room to store.

        Thanks for the info.

turkeyhunter; I haven't a clue where one is on the showroom. I've been looking on line.
I'd like to test run one also, but that probably ain't happening.

        I know.
        Ain'ts quaint, don't say ain't
        Say isn't, isn't that quisnt?

I did a bunch of research before I bought one after hurricane Harvey and I ended up going with the DeWalt. I got the DWE7491 and have zero complaints.

Probably go that route myself, for reasons gonna comment to tpack-below

I have seen that video but I re-watched it. Most of that was boutique issue; set up and squaring/out of the box. Except for the parallelism of fence to miter slot and the blade run-out.
Pretty sure the parallel can be rectified, but not absolutely sure.
I have probably changed my mind to the DeWalt because of the blade run-out. I don't want to go into the bearings/shaft/housing deal if it is even fixable although I like that worm drive. However, I've seen quite a few worm drives with worn out worms; usually brass or some alloy thereof.

              Thanks.

                What's your budget?

I ran a small jet table. It was way too light and so dangerous. That thing would tilt if boards were too heavy.

Now that my shop is done I run a Jet cabinet saw. I love it but a Saw stop is being budgeted. Besides the finger saving technology, they are well made.

Another one to look at is grizzly. Love my Grizzly tools

About what the DeWalt or Skill would cost; ~$600 is all I want to spend for a off and on use tool.

I want something portable so I can put it up and lock it up while I'm not around and whip it out into the back yard for home repair use when needed.
