I took my daughter and sat in the parking lot of a grocery store on 2920 and I-45. They flew RIGHT over us. It was SO cool.

Something about a jet that can do nearly 1,200 mph...much less 6 of them!

Flew over our building pretty close today just east of downtown. Very cool.

              Hand...salute.

Yeah, I was looking for them as well on FlightAware and couldn’t locate them. I guess they stopped publicly publishing the callsign to the tracker programs. For us working the aircraft on our radar scopes, the data tag shows VVBA1. VV is the Navy designator followed by BA1 (Blue Angel 1). But, it wasn’t available on the tracker apps as such. The tanker aircraft (HOIST85) was clearly visible and the holding patterns were showing up clear as day on the app. That pilot didn’t get the glitz and glam that the BA’s commanded but I gotta tell ya, he/she earned their money. The tanker came out of McGuire AFB in New Jersey and met up with the team in North Texas, followed them to Houston, and then on to New Orleans. Then they had to fly back to NJ. The Blues were a hop, skip, and a jump from Pensacola once leaving New Orleans. The flyover was a great spectacle to watch. Everyone I saw watching was in awe. Our military are true professionals.

Being in the defense industry, it was a proud moment for us. We have been coming in and supporting our war fighters through this whole ordeal and seeing the Blue Angels fly over kinda made the ol chest puff out a little.
