Austin will be one of several cites getting a fly-over by the Blue Angels to honor front-line healthcare workers, according to a report by the Washington Post. A memo said the demonstration squadron for the Navy will fly jointly over Washington, D. C. , Baltimore, New York, Newark, Trenton, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and Austin. No dates were given.

This ought to be freakin cool here in Dallas. They usually come out of Love Field just down the street. Watching them come out of there is an experience you'll never forget.

I am going to cart the kids into Austin or San Antonio to see this. Now that I think about the roof of my office in ATX would be a good spot. I can see from Ben White all the way downtown from there.

I grew up on USAF bases and the Thunderbirds never come up short! I catch them whenever they come to Ellington Field......sounds like FREEDOM!!!!

All that jet fuel they burn and all the gasoline spent to go see them might help oil prices.......

                    Nah, but it’s a thought

Thunderbirds uses to come to Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, now the Austin Airport, and I lived just off the runway and we would sit out back in lawn chairs and watch them practice days before the show.

Not sure how may air show “stunts” they will perform especially if they are flying a joint formation. I don’t think they practice together so they probably won’t do a lot of their tricks.

I grew up in the Air Force too. Most of it on Holloman. We got to see the Thunderbirds every year. We spent a few years in England and got to see the Red Arrows fly a few times. Saw the Blue Angels Norfolk. Some of my best memories.
