I bought a used truck in Oklahoma, drove for a few weeks and traded it in Texas. I told the finance guy I never registered it and he said no problem at all. He was so desperate to get my money he just went with it.

Few weeks later the owner of the dealership called me and TOLD me to meet him at the office so I could cough up $3,500. I told him to hold his breath.

Wouldn’t feel bad for a second. Would they call you if you over payed a single cent?! Not in my life time!

They hadn’t delivered what I bought yet. So, don’t pay the $15, don’t get my $1500 worth of Windsor Stone.

Empathy and ethics are two different things. Ethics are what you do when no one else knows. Enjoy your truck.

I had a flooring company bid to do some floor prep work in my current house. They gave me a bid. I accepted it. They told me they would come in a particular day, and stay until the job was finished. They came, did about half the work, and left. The next day, the owner called me up and said if I didn’t pay him another $500, they weren’t coming to finish the job. He also told me that bits for one of his machines were very expensive, and this job was dulling his bits, with an attitude like he was trying to make it seem like it was my fault!!!!! I was between a rock and a hard place, as I had other workers coming in right after the flooring guys. I paid it. I was so pizzed I couldn’t stand it! I will never do business with those thieves again!!!!!!!

Bill, you are OK, as long as you didn’t know you were taking advantage of the dealership when the deal was struck!!!!

Ethics...in general you shouldn’t have to ask/debate your ethics, that being said dealerships stick it to people all the time. I’ve wondered how much it actually cost to build a car/truck at a factory. I’m sure it’s way less then what is paid. Your an ethical guy who dealt with unethical people.

How exactly does a dealership rip you off?

Randell, you are the person that most try to stay away from. I rarely comment but this is some of the dumbest crap ever...

It’s your own fault if you get ripped off at a dealership. You have to agree to the price before you pay them.
