I guess I am in a different boat. I think it is their business to run as they see it. If they want to adjust price per demand...then that is ok.

However with that business practice that they have chosen comes zero customer loyalty. And for that reason I quite purchasing from them back in 2008 during their first big price adjustment based on demand.

I quit CTD years ago for this same reason.

I thought "price gauging" only applied for essentials. Is ammo and firearms considered essential?

The folks that freak out and go on a panic buy, they should be better prepared. It's not like this is the first time a crisis has happened and it certainly won't be the last.

After the first go round where they were charging 100$ per magazine I will never support them in any way shape or form.

That's the darn truth. It's almost criminal what the meat packers make compared to the ranchers.

                  Just to offer another perspective....

Sometimes, I would rather pay an inflated price for something that is actually "in stock" than see everything constantly out of stock. Its great that some companies are holding prices, but they have now lost all their inventory so that doesn't help me much.

I recently purchased some .22 ammo from Bass Pro Shops that was listed as "in stock". They took my money and are continuing to delay my order due to back orders. Many others seem to be having this problem. This is far more upsetting to me than what cheaper than dirt is doing. Now I have to call Bass Pro for a refund.

There is certainly something to be said for that line of thinking. If a store gets in 10 bricks of .22, what's"better"? The first customer in the door buying all 10 at the regular price, or 10 customers buying one brick each at an outrageously high price? One thing gouging does well is cause a wider distribution of a scarce commodity and discourage hoarding.

I don't understand the hoarders anyway. What will they do with 10,000 rounds of ammo unless they are regular range rats?

Yeah I'm still on the fence with price gouging, on one hand it's pretty crappy to take advantage of people but on the other hand it's supply & demand and as said above I might rather overpay for something and actually be able to get it than to sit on a waiting list for a set price.

Put it in the closet with their pile of toilet paper most likely. Lots of OLD ammo out there, always ask how old it is when you're buying it from people selling off tons.

It costs money to take that live cow and get it in a steak form on your plate dont forget, same as everything else you eat.

I didn't read the link but I assume it's about ammo or guns. It's literally not possible to price gouge on ammo or guns. It's not something you have to have to live. Don't like the price, don't buy it. It's called Capitalism.
