My neighbor has about a 30 HP ford with FEL. He has a 30 gallon trash can filled with concrete that he hooks on in the back for weight.

The water also increased traction when pulling plows or box blade. It’s not only for ballast for FEL work.

Before I weighed the rear I had to put the tractor in 4X4 to drag my 8' pull-type offset disc. Once I filled the tires, it gave me enough traction to pull it in 2wd. We figured it added about 1,200 pounds total.

My problem is measuring tire pressure accurately. I was always using a regular tire pressure gauge. My mobile tractor mech said I needed a special gauge the will allow it to get wet. Ive always just rolled the stem to the top and measured air pressure in the cavity...Ive always wondered if Im doing it wrong.
Per the John Deere manual...water filled tires run different pressures versus just air filled tires.

NOPE! Tiller is not heavy enough. I tried that myseff. Picked up a full bucket of dirt, arse end of tractor came right up off the ground. I use my shredder. That's the heaviest attachment I have. It works but sure cuts down on maneuverability by making the overall tractor assembly WAY Long! I have a big land plane that I plan to weld an angle iron frame to that I can place concrete blocks on for ballast, but haven't done it yet.
I can tell you, it'll scare the crap outta you when you pick something up in the bucket and the back end starts to come off the ground!! If that happens, quickly drop the load to put the back tires back on the ground. If the ground is not level, that sucker will turn over in a matter of just a few seconds if you don't drop that load fast.
