My wife and I were sitting in our 3300 sq ft house one night. Realizing we were empty nesters of 5 years and hadn't been in 3 rooms in our house in 2 months. We decided to buy a 1300 sq ft fixer upper. I did most the work remodeling. It was fun but will never do it again. Lack of proper tools for jobs was a big reason I didnt enjoy it more. The down sizing part was great!
Sold a buch of stuff, gave a bunch of stuff away. Bought an RV for a extra bedroom when company showed up and camping.
We moved a year later and went back up to 1600 sq ft. That is our sweet spot I think. Just bought a bigger and nicer RV for company and camping.
