Wife and I are building a barndo right now, we are doing open cell in the walls and ceiling of the living quarters and closed on the ceiling of the shop part. Closed has to be painted or the UV rays will break it down which adds a little to the cost.

Is the spray insulation totally fire proof?

They can add fire retardant to it. And I think it 15 min ignition resistant.

Did you see utilities drop a little, a lot, do you save a good amount of money each month, etc. Anything y'all can personally say about it I am willing to hear.

Hard to say... My house has it, but 3200 sq. ft 1.5 story. I have one 5 ton trane unit with 3 zones. I have not been over impressed but at the same time I don't have nothing else to compare it to. I have a good sized house with lots of windows. I will say I hear of potential headaches that come with it if not set up right. So far, I'd say I would pass. It does hold temp extremely well. I bought this house 3 months old so I was lucky enough to not have to pay for the install.

For me it was absolutely worth it . 100 year old farm house . Sprayed the attic and under the house .

Do not skimp on your windows if you go foam

We moved into our newly built home in February of 2017. The heated and cooled square footage is slightly over 3000. We keep our heat on 64 and ac on 68. Our highest utility bill has been 194.00. Our stove top and hot water heater is on propane.
We also have 29 windows in our house and as stated install good glass.

I love having it in Minnesota. It really deadens sound, makes a house very pest resistant, not to mention the strength it adds. I’m floored at how many people around here trade more square footage for lower quality construction.

100% Y E S!! Totally worth it. Especially in Texas where we run the AC ten months out of the year.

Sad thing is that I have talked to a few people in the business and they say that the cost is not "that" much more to put spray foam in but that that knows they can charge more for it with the going market. I'm 99% sure we will go spray foam with the build
