Do you recall how much it was installed? And maybe a brand name?

So I have this same issue in my house. Not quite as bad. It’s not the installer. It’s the quality of tile. I bought the cheaper tile knowing I’d have to fill it in some. I installed it myself and it’s partly what I do for a living. I own a remodeling/roofing business. It’s easy to fill in. Just find a grout that matches the tile and fill it in. It was worth it to pay $2.99 a sf vs $8-$12 a sf.

If you have a pool you may not want it. It is supposedly very slick when wet.

The problem here is the fill. And there is a lot of it in that stone

I installed travertine in my house about 11 years ago. I’m about to pull it up and replace it with wood looking porcelain planks. I like the way travertine looks but I don’t love the upkeep.

                  DON'T DO IT!
You can scratch the stuff with your fingernail.
Use porcelain look a like. It's screen printed- you can't tell the difference.
Travertine makes great back splashes and wall/ shower tile.
Sux if you like things to stay looking perfect.
I'm a GC I've been dealing with the stuff for 23 years

The more reading I’ve been doing sounds like you are exactly right. I’m now looking into doing the porcelain tile that looks like travertine. Just gotta make sure it’s not to slippery when wet. Also looks like it’s much more affordable to install.

Most manufacturers include a slip rating on their tile information
