Is it really only worth ~7k?

I have a 2005 F-150 Lariat 4x4 with 154,000 original miles. Bought it brand new and have taken great care of it, regular maintenance and all of that. Runs like a champ, never a major issue, burns zero oil. Never wrecked, has some Texas pin-strips (scratches) and dings. Brand new tires. Is it really only worth $6-7K? Does being a one-owner vehicle make any difference? Would like to get newer truck, but the cost of them versus what I have, I can’t seem to justify. What am I missing?

    Thanks for reading

If it makes you feel any better I wouldn’t give you 4 for it. Lol. It’s a 15 year old truck, and despite the miles, 15 years of wear and tear. I’m in the same boat as you, I have a 2010 with about the same mileage, been paid off for several years, but after pricing new vehicles, I’ve decided I’ll just do some preventative maintenance to mine and fix any major issues as I come across them. At some point in time I’ll have to get a new one but I’m hoping to get another 10 years out of my Tundra. I have a commuter vehicles so mine doesn’t get used all that much.

I sold my 2004 F150 Lariat in immaculate condition with less miles than that for $7500 back in 2013. That's not bad for a 15 year old truck.

I’d give ya $5k if I needed one.

        I don’t need one.

And I wouldn’t even consider it.

They offered me 7k for a 05 duramax 4x4 crew in December. Better take it!

Fifteen year old gassers regardless of mileage are worth nothing to dealers. I dont necessarily agree with it but its the way it is unfortunately.

Is that even a ligit question? Its 15 years old and 150k+ miles. Look at it on the side of buyer and not seller
                Would you pay $15k?

                  Rude, you asked a question.

I will never buy “new” again. Even if I won Powerball I don’t think I could pay $70k+ for a truck, well, maybe a Shelby! It’s just crazy how expensive they have become. Guess I’ll drive this one until I no longer can. Hopefully I’ll give out before my truck does.

You better take the $7k then if you were offered it

I’m in the same boat, but with 182k miles. Truck runs like a pony. I’ll just keep it going as long as I can with some religious maintenance.
