That old welder brings back many great memories. Learned how to weld on the exact same machine as well.

Looking good man, looks like alot of work. How many acres did you purchase? I'm doing the same some day soon.

Does anybody have any recommendations on where I can pickup somewhere around 20-30 Red Brangus commercial cows/heifers in this area? I’ll pick up a registered bull, but the cows can just be commercial. I have no interest in recoding birth weights/weaning weights/bloodlines, etc.
Stock show is this weekend too, should be some good stock at auction.

I learned to weld on an old tombstone Lincoln just like that. Mine, like yours, was my grandfather's. I got it when he passed in '92.

It’s about 340 acres. I certainly would’ve like it to be bigger, but it’s definitely big enough to keep my one-man show busy.

Thanks everyone, we are still plugging away at it. I’ve got to repair some fence and get my spring plots disced this week to try and turn in some of that mulch. Which also means I need to buy about 50 posts and fix the brace arm on the disc. More projects on the list!

Yeah, I welded up some angle iron yesterday in an attempt (probably futile) To rehab a blind I built with that same welder when I was a sophomore in high school (c. 1988-90). There’s not a square weld in that thing. Of course, I absolutely had no money anyway and all the metal was either scraps or leftovers, so I’m sure I was just using whatever worked.

340 acres is just about perfect. You can do quite a bit with that bud.

30ish years and three reskinning jobs later and it’s still going. Too small, not square, and the legs keep getting cut down, but I can’t let it go. Too much sentimental attachment.

My latest project is this garden building that was left from the previous owner. I really don’t have much of a use for it.

I thought maybe I could turn it into feed/corn storage if I could seal it up decently. Anyone know of any kind of expanding foam that’s more or less rodent proof? Doors are kind of jacked so I would have to build something for that as well. Or...

I could order some deer view windows and a door and turn it into the mother of all ground blinds. It’d be a white trash, trailer house version of Maccop’s stone cabin blinds. Card table, cots, solar panels, exhaust fan. Hmmm....
Looks like a smoke house to me

Not a lot happened today... I actually went to the office and worked a (more or less) full day. My dad, on the other hand, couldn’t stand the fact that the heifers might be hungry and that nothing was happening on the ghetto blind, so he got busy...
