You get what i'm talking about. That sir, is one heck of feed pen. Built to last too. That's one thing I have noticed about my landowner. When he builds, or has something built on the ranch. It is built to last.

Do it right do i light. Do it wrong do it Long.

Just offset that T post a foot and you’ve got a 9’ gate...

For the middle T post on your opening, knock the plate off the post where it will pull out of the ground easily. You can drive it back in with a four pound hammer. I’ve been doing that ever since I’ve had feed pens. The hogs won’t know the difference. Also, instead of wiring up the end that opens, I’ve been using clips that you might use on a lead rope, kinda like a carabiner, but not, if that makes any sense. I don’t know what the proper name is but you can get them at any hardware store. Much easier than wiring and unwiring.

Called a snaphook and is what I use as well. I use one high and one low.

I have one pen gate that is exactly like webb09’s. I got the gate from tractor supply, and set poles on each side. I have two other pens that I just slightly bent a cattle panel maybe 30 degrees in the middle so it could stand up on its own. I attached it to one pole with U nails. The other side I just have carabiners to open and close it. The gate opening is about 12’ wide.

I built my new one with 22 panels. It's the biggest I have built and the bucks seem to like it. This is the first pen I've had bucks eating and others sparring at the same time.

Only bad thing is I feel like all my future pens should be the same size.

I’ve done the same except i use two dog leash end at the top and bottom of the panel to keep the panels hooked together.
I just unhook them and swing the panel open.
                              No hogs issues.

I’ve done all the above mentioned, finally landed on this! The best yet! Everybody on our lease have theirs like this or w steel sign post and threaded eye bolts. All you need is 4 eye bolts or lags, and 2 rods to fit what ever size eye bolts you get, no snaps, no tie wire and a lot cheaper than a farm gate! Before I get asked, you have to tie off one end so the gate hinges and swings from. Or if you don’t have room to swing it, you could add another post when eye bolts and slide the panel out of ur way.
