Replaced the screen on my 2016 f-150 at 60,000.

Unfortunately I think it might be fairly common. I’ve got a 2013 with no issues yet other than when I hit the volume up or down button on the steering wheel it will change the station. But the screen still works. My buddies 2016 had the screen issue you mentioned and he took it to the dealer but can’t remember exactly what he was chargered or if it’s covered.

I don't have a screen but on my f250 occasionally I have to pull the fuse on my sync system because it's froze up.

Got in my truck this morning, and after not working all day yesterday, it works today. If it's going to go out I wish it would just go out.

I asked the dealership to look at it at my last oil change and they gave the "we couldn't get it to do what you're describing" answer.

If it's this common, I wonder if they would just take my word for it and fix it even if it's currently working.

Not a chance! I mean after all we are talking about a car dealership and a FORD car dealership at that!!

I have had the same problem, I forget the issue but it took about two weeks at the dealership to repair. After speaking with the service guy it sounded like they have had a ton of issues with the displays.

Had the module replaced today. It's working fine so far.

Glad to hear you got it fixed.

To add, as mentioned above it’s definitely not just a Ford thing.
The screen on my 2014 Ram went out at the beginning of September, acted jacked up enough I thought I was going to have to bring in an exorcist.

When we took my wife’s in it started working again just like you described. The technician told us that they can usually tell if the module is bad by trying to reprogram the module. If it is bad, once reprogrammed he said that most of the time the radio will fail again immediately. May be worth a shot to ask

Just dropped my 2017 F-150 off at the dealer. The stupid touch screen worked perfect all the way there. It hasn’t worked like that in months. It always freezes. Sure hope they will just replace it.

Yep, they gave me a loaner truck though. The repair didn’t take long they were backed up in service and were waiting on parts.
