    Is it true???

The winner of the African Safari / LSBA Membership Drive turned down the hunt...AGAIN???

    Ms Dena,
I promise, if yall would pick my name, I WILL NOT TURN DOWN THE HUNT!!

Dan, the first guy did but I don't think the second guy turned it down!!! He called me and seemed pretty excited about the trip. I know he has a bear hunt this spring so he was trying to figure out the total cost.

This is actually the third person to win the hunt.

I heard from a very reliable source, who was at the Wild Hog Expo yesterday, that the latest winner turned down the hunt. This supposedly came from one of the LSBA upper eschelon.

Wow! These guys have zero idea what they are turning down. As you know, it is literally less expensive than hunting here once your plane touches down.

Maybe the winner can't afford the airfare and shipping/taxi fees. I know I couldn't right now.

No need to make the person feel worse than they probably already do.

Yep, my 7 day, 5 animal hunt last year costed less than a 4 day elk hunt here in the US. And that includes taxidermy work.

Right now, plane tix to South Africa are less than $1500. If you only shoot the animals in the package, thats less than a west texas deer lease.

I cant wait to go back to South Africa. I am already puttin money back for 2010. Only got about 10000 miles b4 I get a free international plane ticket. I will get 6000 miles when the family goes to Denver this summer!

Hey now Oscar ...one of the "guys" is actually a "gal"....ME! I was SO excited to win...I've never won anything, but due to a full hunting schedule & time away from the kids -I had to turn the trip down...the timing is just not good for me & I am so bummed! I am just giving you a hard time, but I do want everyone to know how grateful I am-I just can't make it work!

As much as I'd love to go on a hunt like that, I'd be one that would have to turn it down if I won. I can't afford the money nor the time right now. Sure gonna make a nice trip for someone though.

Exactly... I couldn't go even if the entire trip was free..

Yeppers, it is true! I receive a VM from Ken on Thursday. Sorry, you could not make it. We've been at the Wild Boar Expo all weekend, so I've not been able to post. I plan on taking care of it tomorrow. If you are eligible for the hunt and you CAN make the trip, please let me know. I will put all of those names in the drawing for the hunt.

I would like to say that all the prior winners were grateful and expressed their appreciation. Sometimes things just don't work out like we want them to. I will start a thread tomorrow asking for names of the people that are qualified for the drawing and that would be able to go on the hunt. I would also like to thank Badger Bush Lodge for their patience.

Yes, I can and will go if I am drawn!!!

Thanks, Ms Dena. Sounds like yall had a busy time at the Wild Hog Expo. Wish I could have made it. Thanks again to LSBA for all yall do for archery and bowhunting. Keep up the great work.

Can ya'll give us an idea of what the shipping and taxi fees run? I can't see how hunting there would ever be cheaper than hunting somewhere in the US.
