opossums got 2 of my chickens and hawk got the other... you can definitely take them down with a pellet gun I have done it mine is one of those decent but cheap 1000 fps break barrel guns.

Its the flies that attract the possums. Get you some golden maldrin fly bait. Mix something sweet like. Dr pepper with it. Put it where your chickens can't get it. It will get rid of the flies and every possum will be gone.

I am going to guess knocking it to the INSIDE of the fence with the dogs would deter him LOL!

Cheapest repeating possum trap is a open top 55 gallon barrel, put some fish or other bait in it and place next to a tree or wood post. Possums climb up and jump in and cant jump out!
