I was going to recommend Lee Child's "Jack Reacher" series, but you're already on it!

If you like the Reacher series then you will LOVE Brad Thor...look him up & start from the beginning. Hang onto your wallet. He ties in modern day stuff with his character (who could stomp reacher into a grease spot) & studies the topic hard. He spent a bunch of time in the valley & even mentioned the ole Casa de Palmas hotel here in McAllen. That was a couple or 3 books back.

For light funny stuff check out Patrick McManus...his short stories are all about being outdoors & will have you lol in the stand. He used to write the back page for outdoor life I think.

                            Great book! Definitely a classic

OP - If you want a slight change, I bought one of Ernest Hemingway's book of short stories, and another about his Africa safaris. Great reads, and his style of writing has stood the test of time. For more along the lines that you asked for, Jeff Carson's David Wolf series is entertaining and quick to read. I finish a book each weekend. Plus Amazon has them for free to download if you have Prime.

Westerns - William Johnstone has some good series of westerns and C.J. Petit is good reading.
